Following
recent incidents of coastal flooding the Department of Infrastructure
commissioned JBA Consultants to carry out a Concept Design Report in connection
with Coastal & Harbour Flooding.
The
Report has now been completed and can be viewed on the internet at www.gov.im/coastandwave.
As
regards Laxey, the Report in summary states that in respect of the Harbour and
Promenade, options are to raise the Harbour wall, set back the Promenade wall,
raise the wall or place rock revetments.
The
Department wishes to engage with all interested parties to discuss options to
protect Laxey Sea Front and Harbour and to that end are going to hold a Public
Meeting on Thursday 26th February 2015 at 11.00 am at the Laxey
Working Mens Institute.
At
this meeting JBA Consultants will be delivering a presentation on their findings
providing Residents with the opportunity to ask questions.
