Fly Tipping
While most residents dispose of the rubbish in a responsible
way, increasingly Laxey Village Commissioners are having to deal with fly
tipping incidents. We would like to
remind that fly tipping is illegal and offenders can be fined up to £5,000 or
face imprisonment.
The photograph below was taken last week at the Glen Road
recycling area and shows a dumped fridge and other building material. The Local Authority will now have to direct
resource to deal with this, which costs the rate payer money.

Reporting Fly Tipping
If you witness a fly tipping incident you are encouraged to
report it to Laxey Village Commissioners and provide the following information:

The date, time and place where the tipping is
taking place or has occurred;

What the waste is and roughly how much of it
there is;
·
A description of any vehicles involved and the
registration number;
A prosecution cannot be made without evidence.
